X Race: WSM is a BRAND-NEW addition to our ‘outdoor fitness racing series’ for 2024, hosted on the stunning Weston-super-Mare beach in Somerset!

The location and terrain may be different from previous X Races but the aim of the game remains the same - complete the course as quick as possible! 

Competitors will take on a uniquely designed route for this location that will test their beach running & rucking skills and require them to complete 5 EPIC functional fitness zones, each packed with some seriously cool unconventional equipment!

As always, all the routes, fitness challenges & entry categories are carefully designed to ensure that newcomers can participate in the events alongside more experienced fitness racing athletes.

Please note: You will NOT be required to swim at any point on this X Race course. 

DISTANCES: 

There are 3 distances to choose from: 

THE SPRINT 

(approx 4k of Beach Running & 5 Functional Zones)

THE ENDURANCE 

(approx 8k of Beach Running & 5 Functional Zones)

THE ULTRA 

(2 Laps Of The Endurance Route)

CATEGORIES: 

1) Just For Fun:

- Individuals & Groups (as many team members as you like!)

2) Competitive:

- Individuals (competitive heat men)

- Individuals (competitive heat women)

- Mens Pairs (competitive heats)

- Womens Pairs (competitive heats)

- Mixed Pairs (competitive heats)

Please note: If you take part in a competitive category, we will pre-allocate you to your age group based on the age you provide when signing up. 

At the end of the event, you will be able to see how you placed overall as well as in your specific age group.  

Age groups:

Individual

Open age category - 35 or below

Masters age category - 36-42

Vets age category - 43+

Pairs 

Open age category - combined age of 70 or below

Masters age category - combined age of 71-84

Vets age category - combined age of 85+

Training:

You don’t need any fancy equipment to train for X Race, you’ll find everything you need in pretty much all gym environments …. Check out our free 8-week training plan here!

Parking: We will send out information regarding parking closer to the event.

Location: Weston-super-Mare Beach, Marine Parade, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1BE (just to the right of the Tropicana)

Start Time / Finish Time: Provisionally, all heats for all categories will begin between 10am-12.30pm. You will be sent your exact heat start time on the week of the event.

Spectators: We never charge for spectators, so everyone welcome!
